Humanity grew up?

Sadly the beer has stopped my brain cells from appropriate soaking in all that has been written here (I'm quite enjoying the dizziness), but I will go so far as to state that the whole point of humanity is that we are born, we live, we die. Without dying there would be no correct definition of living.

After trying many applications and tools that didn't fit my needs I realized the problem wasn't the tools, it was the lack of an overall strategy for managing my time and priorities. Check out David Seah's work at http://davidseah.com/blog/the-printable-ceo-series. He's come up with some excellent techniques and methods that have worked really well for me. Worth checking out.

Actually, no. You get that after the first year. So I guess for the first 12 months you do a lot of standing around.

Well IE8 does pass Acid2. However, that is even more sad. Their brand new technology (and they have harped on how advanced IE8 is) is just able to meet standards that are completely surpassed. Interesting that such a huge company with so many resources is outdone by everyone. I think at some stage it becomes a skill to suck that much.

I'd be interested to see how the new IE does in the ACID2 test. Maybe Microsoft a referring to the web standards from yesteryear?

Well as someone who has actually decided to read the Bible to see just how "good" the "Good Book" is, I can tell you that above all the Bible is BORING and REPETITIVE and reading it is as much fun as going to the dentist for root canal work without the anesthetic. You have to read a little bit at a time or else you get horrible nightmares.

"Oh, how nice Johnny - you've got an invisible friend :) What? He's a jealous and vengeful invisible friend? He'll do what to me? :O Now that's not very nice Johnny - stop being naughty! No I am not going to bow to your invisible friend! Oh - so he loves me, but if I don't bow to him I'll burn in fire for eternity? How ... considerate of him ... Could I get a straight jacket in here?!?"

Love these quotes :) These are -excellent- for a laugh, but if you want some specific examples with which to "re-educate" a christian, who is espousing the loving and progressive nature of their religion, have a look at evilbible.org

Asimov and Dawkins were sooo right above - the negative material in the Bible positively shits all over the common quotes from the Quran. It's like "yeah sure, do like the Muslims do and kill all the non-believers, but first make sure they watch you torture and rape their wives, kill their children, kill their donkeys, burn their entire civilisation, exterminate their race ... meanwhile I'll be napalming them from heaven ... is that it?... I guess so ... yeah, then you can kill them."

Rant complete - apologies :)

Some of these I had not read before - a big thank you for finding them!

I had a conversation with one of my Catholic friends (who's really a Buddhist it turns out) and I was explaining that my plan for any children I have is to not allow them to join any religion until they're 18 and able to think for themselves. Her response was "yeah, but by then it's a lot harder for them to get into it".

I explained that that was the point.
