We are on the ferry crossing the Adriatic, so I thought I try and deal with the boredom of the nine hour ride, by writing another update.

On the cheap side of life
May 30, 2007Standing room only at the holy seat
May 29, 2007Another even earlier morning. We started by waking up at 6:30. The reason was to beat the ‘holy’ queue at the Vatican Museums. We arrived to join the queue at 7:45, the museum opened at 8:45 and we got in around 9:10.
When in Rome …
May 28, 2007Today, we started the adventure rather late, despite waking up early. We were hoping to catch the camp’s shuttle bus to the Vatican at 8am, but when we got to the bus stop we found out it was completely booked out until 10am. After finally arriving at the Vatican we found the ‘holy’ queue.
Another tunnel?
May 26, 2007Our final destination for the day was Florence, with Genova and Pisa as the main sightseeing stops. So we packed up, said goodbye to the friends in Nice, found the motorway, put the music on and got underway for Italia. Two minutes later we stopped as we were stuck in a traffic jam.
The red carpet
May 24, 2007We went to Cannes and the French philosophers would have been very proud of me. I started thinking about the whole shindig they have going on with the film festival. What it all really boils down to is simply a lot of people going to the cinema.
The vast lands …
May 23, 2007Today we went to Monaco. Yes, the vast province of Monaco. The great vast land of the rich. We had to park at the entrance because it was too crowded and we couldn’t all fit in the vast country.
Nice Nice
May 22, 2007We are at a very nice place called Nice. The weather here is suffering from global warming so it’s apparently unusually hot. Before I get into more Nice stuff, let me recount the events and locations on the way here.
Location, location
May 20, 2007We decided to go to the centre of Paris for some sightseeing. It was a rainy morning so we were looking for indoor activities. In the meantime I was pondering about an interesting question. Would I want to live in Paris? And then, we came across this lovely place that made up my mind.
A night in Paris
May 19, 2007It’s nearly 11pm and it seems there does exist a cure for my Darling’s insomnia – sightseeing. I’m watching some French TV channel which keeps showing music clips from famous artists. However, for some inexplicable reason, they are only showing bits of each song, which is annoying as I quite like most of the songs they have on. Darling fell asleep as soon as we got in the room, around 9pm. So this is my chance to share my views on the romance capital.
In the beginning …
May 18, 2007At the moment we are in the Eurostar train under the La Channel. Yesterday afternoon, as we were flying above it, it became clear to me why they call it a channel. The distance between France and the UK is really not much at all.
However, let’s rewind…
